Recently had to physically move my router and cable modem.  Following the recommendation from this site, I use the my.pogoplug.com interface to eject my storage device (a USB enclosure with 4 3.5" IDE hard drives).

After hooking up my network, I powered on the PogoPlug by itself (just ethernet and power) and waited until it's status lights were solid green.  After that, I plugged the USB enclosure in.  Pogoplug seemed to recognize it.  However, that's when the issues started.

PogoPlug begin to reindex all the media on the enclosure (Processing media. Access may appear slow until complete), it had also forgotten all the drive names that it had previously acknowledged, renaming them by their hardware designation.

Most critically, however, all contents of one drive, while visible, can no longer be played or copied.  Attempting to do so results in "Error 0x80070057: The parameter is incorrect" from Windows.  The general recommendation was to run chkdsk on the drive in question, however, this results in "Cannot open volume for direct access".

Has Pogoplug eaten my data? What are my options?

On a related note, I've been noticing a general trend with my pogoplug device for less and less reliability, stability and performance lately. Is there some sort of diagostic I can do to determine if it is degenerating.

Send an email to support@pogoplug.com and let them know what's going on. They'll be able to run some remote diagnostics, and will probably have a few more questions to help diagnose. If there is a problem with your Pogoplug, they'll get a replacement out to you immediately to get you up and running.

Thanks, I'll try that now.
