When I stream a video on the iPhone, it simply ends after about five minutes.

So I can't watch a video on the iPhone.  I can't download a video to the iPhone (or audio file) to play back later.  I would call this app a complete failure and not ready for use.

We've recently submitted a new version of the iPhone app to Apple and are now waiting for its approval. This could take anywhere from 3 weeks to a couple of months, depending on how busy they are, as far as I know.

The good news is that we've added a bunch of new features and fixed several bugs with the existing app.

I will post back on Pogoplugged as soon as it's available. Thanks for your patience!

@Gunderstorm

Thanks for the call out. Please contact support@pogoplug.com so we can isolate the issue.

All the responses on this forum seem to be along the lines of, "Thanks for letting us know. Please email support so we can isolate the issue." What's the use of this forum if you're just going to have everyone email support and then not post the resolution on the forum.

At least where the iPod/iPhone is concerned, this has been more of a PITAplug. Personally, I'm fed up with waiting for endless rescans and fidgeting to get media to stream. I'll be using something a bit more reliable that actually DOES what it claims to do. I'd believe the video to iPod streaming feature works and shut up if you could post a video on YouTube showing the iPhone app being used to stream a video from the device that is more than 10 minutes long. I don't have to see the whole ten minutes, just proof the thing actually works for more than a 10 second preview!

If you really want to put me in my place, post a few other videos on YouTube showing how to set up and use new features of the PogoPlug as they are released.

Cheers!

I just downloaded the iPhone app today, so I'm sure I have the most recent version. None of the movies will play for more than about 10 seconds-- not the streaming ones, not even the ones that were already on my iPhone.  (I have the original iPhone, not 3 or 4.)  What's the deal?

I am having exactly the same problem on both my iPad and iPhone 4. Latest version of software installed last saturday when bought the pogo plug. The video will only stream the first 10 seconds. How do I fix this? Can't find any option in the app.

It's just playing the 10 sec preview. You need to either let the pogoplug transcode the entire video in settings on the web app (yup, again and yes it is very slow) or transcode the video with something like handbrake using h.264 encoding and web ready setting. That should do it.
