I would submit this to support.pogoplug.com. I had the same problem and after a firmware upgrade it was taken care of. It did take some time to rebuild the thumbnails so you do have to wait a bit before that is done.
Every time I add a new folder via the Windows Client to my Pogoplug drive I’m only getting something like 25% of the thumbnails and the rest are missing. I see all the thumbnails via the Windows Client but not via the Web Client. With the Web Client, the files without thumbnails will still open an image, however no thumbnail or image is seen via the iPhone application.
The only way to fix this is to eject the drive, reconnect it to the my main computer, delete the .cedata folder, and reattach the drive to the Pogoplug and wait (and wait) for new thumbnails to be produced. Refreshing the Web Client page or reloading the drive via the Windows Drive will not fix the problem.
This is getting pretty old! There's got to be a more reliable / consistent way to add picture files to the Pogo drive and be able to see them and share them effectively!! My initial enthusiasm for Pogoplug is dying quickly…
I am doing the firmware updates as soon as they appear, and I didn't see any improvements.
Waiting is not enough; the thumbnails are just not being produced. In order to get the thumbnails I have to go through the process of eject drive-connect to main computer-delete .cedata folder-reconnect to Pogoplug, and wait. This is happening every time I add picture folders and it's getting to be a major annoyance.
