The title says it all. I believe the answer to be 'no' but would like confirmation. I would like any changes I make to this file to be persistent.

After consulting the Development team I have been advised that to date /etc/init.d/rcS has been "patched", not replaced. Patches to date have been on the order of bug fixes.

I hope this answers your question.

Christopher,
If there are plans in the future to replace rather than patch /etc/init.d/rcS I would appreciate some sort of notification, maybe the release notes?
Thanks.
