What distro? Try putting "sudo" in front of the command. Did you "sudo apt-get install fuse-utils"?
Categories: Pogoplug Drive (Linux)
Seems the binary is looking for a so-called /etc/fuse.conf file and is not finding it. See below (any ideas what this is?):
NOTE: This does not impede linux from access the pogoplug from what I can tell. Also, I have checked in /etc on the pogoplug and the file fuse.conf is NOT there.

Yep that was a bit short...
Ubuntu 8.10 running inside VirtualBox 2.2.4 on OSX 10.5.8 (Vbox Host)
I forgot sudo (this was the problem accessing the fuse.conf file in etc). I used it and am having problems still. I have fuse-utils loaded because I do a lot of sshfs.
The current problems I am having could possibly be related to accessing the pogoplug concurrently from OSX (natively) and Linux. I am going to format the drive to ext3 or 2 as it was formatted for OSX when I received it and figure this can't hurt (unless you think otherwise).
More on this later...
The fuse.conf problem went away with sudo. Other problems include the Linux version not (I am testing Linux under VirtualBox and natively) actually connecting to the pogo but I need to test this a bit more before coming to any conclusions.
OK. I decided to RTFM. I went to: http://www.pogoplugged.com/article/11740/How-To-Install-Pogoplug-Drive-Softwa...
However, when I execute pogoplugfs I get a mount failure (fusermount: user has no write access to mountpoint ). In your instructions you suggest we set permissions to:
chmod 0755
However, this does not give sufficient write access for pogoplugfs apparently when using root:fuse for ownership. So permissions can be changed to 775 or 777 and the mount completes successfully.
Also, depending on where your mounted drive is located you may also want to consider :fuse as the ownership of the file.
AN OBSERVATION:
It seems a bit sloppy that in order to close down the pogoplugfs link I have to ctrl-c out of pogoplugfs. It does appear to gracefully exit but still... Are there any plans to develop a GUI applet for executing pogoplugfs? Am I missing something?
Somewhere else in another post you said you wanted to record the various environments this was tested under:
Successfully:
1. This was tested on an eeepc 900 using Ubuntu 9.04.
2. Also tested on 9.04 within Virtual Box 2.2.4 within OSX 10.5.8 host.
