You mention "support address given for assignment of new password."
Are you talking about the forum here? Or did you email support@pogoplug.com to have your issue resolved?
If you didn't email Cloud Engines support directly, that sounds like it is the best way for you to go. I don't see this being a common issue with users of the site, so I'm not sure why you are experiencing these issues. I hope you can reach a resolution soon.

This thing just came in the mail and I have been getting frustrated for hours.
I cannot seem to receive email.
I've received two emails from POGOPlugged (hence my appearance here) but I've not received the "verification email" referenced in the sign up procedure (although ocasionally I can force my way into PogoPlug by "manually activating" with the device ID#)... The password bahavior seems quite erratic though - sometimes I'm allowed in, other times no. IN NO CASE have I been able to general "invite" email to secondary addresses I keep for test purposes...
Any help for a Newbie?
{did have one 'illegal' dismount and have since run CHKDSK on drive and religiously use "eject" from Web interface at this point..}

As my conversation is now in it's second day with "tech support" I think we can let this thread go unless (and until) I can report back with some good news.
To clarify, at the time I was simply referring to the fact that a link had been provided for a "FORGOT PASSWORD" function -- which I would assumed would generate some automatic email very quickly and provide me a way to enter and reset my password. Between you and me I don't think the password was ever the problem, but as Montel would say "that's a whole 'nother show..."
The frustration was that no mail - no link - no reset of the password was ever received.
Tech support did finally admit to some problems in their email system but 2 exchanges later and I'm still waiting for that FORGOT PASSWORD link to generate something meaningful back to me, even though my unit has been "verified" by tech support staff.
25 years in IT & DP related fields, so not exactly new at this !
Doing my best to help Tech Support help me... That's the update.
I'll circle back with a summary here once I'm happily online - thanks again for taking an interest. I just found it interesting that all the Automated Systems seemed to work fine at providing me access to the PogoPlugged Community and the Tech Support System -- the system that seems failing me is the actual support for the product itself !
At the time of my original posting, I still was not registered in Tech Support's ticketing system -- this seemed like the only place to post my experience and hope that someone else might know what I could be doing to solve the problem! At any rate, the ticket is active, responses (mainly asking me to "try again") keep coming and I'm doing my best to monitor the traffic so as to speed things along. I'll let you know when things seem to be resolved...

Update : not allowed to sign in when trying to activate (again).
encouraged to sign on. Password not accepted. Support address given (EDIT: Link Provided) for assignment of new password. nothing. (some time passes...) nothing. (more time passes...) nothing. ...going ...to ...bed (!)
At the least the automated systems worked by letting me on to the forum where I could witness the excitement of others... wish I was in the club. Nice Doorstop !
