I just purchased one but I want to know if it has the capability to run php scripts "out of the box" or do I have to configure something to get php working 'on' pogo?

Thanks
Tjackson.

Ps I posted a similar question but can't find it in the forums. Sorry if the original question re surfaces.

php scripts do not run "out of the box". OpenPogo.com provides tools that will allow php to be run.

Thanks.

My problem now is I'm deffinitly not a Linux user so I mess up I feel I mght brick my plug.

I'll keep you guys posted.

Btw, is the processor on the pogo able to handle multiple php scripts?

Thanks,
tjackson.

Yep it can run PHP and MySQL (LAMP), although I suggest Lighttpd instead of Apache because Lighttpd scales better to the Pogoplug's hardware and therefore runs faster, and don't worry about bricking the 'plug, it's all done on another partition of the Pogoplug's internal memory and doesn't affect the OS or anything else.

Well the good news was I got the pogo and was able
to follow and install php and mysql. I ran a test script and all went fine
but the function - mysql_pconnect failed. Anyone have any suggestions?

I must say openpogo is really easy. I don't have extensive knowledge of Linux
but all the ssh, sftp and others helpped out.

Thanks again.
Tjackson.

I guess this is more of a Linux system question, I need to install php with mysql extension. Any takers? In the mean time I will try to google this myself.

Thanks,
tjackson.
