Is there a way to get the direct url of a file? I'm using pogoplug in conjunction with my website and would like to post a direct link anytime new files are uploaded, instead of a walkthrough of how to navigate to the specific folder.

Thanks

have you tried the rss feature? try sharing a folder from your pogoplug using the web application, and enabling the rss feature, then using the feed url it gives you. it contains revokable links to your files, and updates the feed when new files are added to the folder.

The problem you will have using a direct RSS feed is that if you set it up on your local LAN you will get something line 192.168.0.110/feeds/feedaddress. You will not get the WAN address of the files RSS feed. You would actually need to set it up, access the file remotely via WAN and see what address it is at. Then you could add that to a webpage and no there is not a direct correlation available from the LAN address to the WAN address.

Regardless, I'd like a WAN "Copy Link" option in both the webapp and in the client, like Dropbox does (Copy public link) instead of creating RSS feeds and stripping the links from it.

Yup, I would like that also. Would make things easier.

Hey Guys - we launched some new website functionality today that might help with that. You can now create a public URL for any shared directory that is separate from the RSS feed. That might satisfy the need here - let us know!

@Jon.QA
How do we find out about this new functionality other than through your posts?

Typically you will find them here in the new articles.

Or in their blog here. http://www.pogoplugged.com/blog/104/Pogoplug-Team-Blog/
