Hi All,
The red light on my Pogoplug device is on and the Pogoplug Windows system tray shows that the device is logged out. I can't access the my.pogoplug.com website and www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com shows that my.pogoplug.com is down for everyone.
Is the service really down for everyone?
Of course, the larger issue is the fact that the device apparently requires a connection to my.pogoplug.com in order to function properly. If so, this is REALLY lame. Regardless of whether I can access the web interface or not, I should still be able to see my shared drives on my local network (and manage them from my desktop). Am I missing something?
Thanks for your help.
Me too. I thought it was me. I got an error saying that it could not find the 'server' and failed to authenticate. I get this problem both with my.pogoplug.com and with my Pogoplug desktop app. Looks like they're having an server outage.
I thought that the authentication server was fault protected and redundant? Maybe I misremember from their FAQ.
Has anyone contacted their tech support? I think I'll drop a line to let them know.
Aha! That's what's happening. I just got kicked off my Pogoplug Drive and can't sign in online either. Transmission is working fine to grab some torrents, though.
I should have checked here before I started troubleshooting on my end. Ugg. Down here too. I *did* check their blog and twitter expecting there would be some notification if the whole service was down. Not good.
Hi all
Apologies to all who went offline on Monday the 7th. We discovered our service had gone down at approximately 11AM PDT. Our Chief Engineer took immediate action when he realized the unplanned outage.
Though the duration of the outage was very brief, not more than a few minutes, for many of you this was enough to knock your Pogoplug's offline and we sincerely apologize for this. Fortunately, we believe many if not all of you immediately contacted support and we worked this out with you individually.
Naturally, we are looking into options to prevent this in the future.

Hello,
FWIW, The servers appear to be down again. I can not log into the my.pogoplug.com site nor access my pogoplug shares.
Regards,
Roger
Service down again. What is so frustrating is that the device has to be connected to an external service to use on my internal network. Such a poor, unexplainable, and unforgivable software solution. Completely unnecessary. The concept of Pogoplug is fantastic, but the execution is horrible. I believe I am simply going to move on to a different NAS solution.
Seems down via virginmedia (UK) and JANET (ac.uk) (13:52 BST)
Update: 16:00 happened to check and service is back. Annoying, but I could have just plugged my drives into a machine if needed.
What pogoplug could do better
1) Better indicator of when problems occur
2) Make the desktop software less dependant on internet access
The staff could say how long the down would be, we don't pretend a perfect always on service, if you say what's going on. In this way you make a bad impression.
Still down, so much for the "NEW" technology, still, been using the cloud for over a year, 1st BIG outage that we have had... hang in there guys, lets hope someone is home at PogoPlug !!!
WE WILL NEVER FORGET !!!!
Also can't log in this morning via progoplug desktop app. I have another PC that is logged in since Yesterday (via pogoplug desktop app) - that one still works. For those using the desktop app to access the pogoplug - looks like the authentication part is failing this morning.
Down for me as well :(
(Shared links don't work. The site "my.pogoplug.com" doesn't load. Desktop app says there's no network connection.)
