Hello. I've installed Openpogo with Firefly media server successfully and installed Transmission but am having problems with that. I've got the web interface for Transmission loaded and have uploaded a .torrent file that works (checked with the OS X version of Transmission). The web interface won't start downloading, though. I've got the download folder for the web interface set to /tmp/.cemnt/mnt_sda2/Torrents and have created the Torrents folder in the appropriate directory. Any ideas would be appreciated.

nmatheis,

Make sure the physical drive and full path is really correct. I have a couple drives and whenever I reboot it seems random as to which drive ends up at sda1 vs. sda2.

Since I don't want to reconfigure Transmission each time I have a script that figures out where the drive is and binds to another mount point:

mount --bind /tmp/.cemnt/$FOUND_HD1 /mnt/hd1

this way I always can count on /mnt/hd1.

Probably there is a simpler way of doing this without my script hack but I don't know it.

Thanks for the reply. I've got only one drive attached to the Pogoplug, which makes it curious why it's mounting to sda2 instead of sda1. I'm sure the path is correct, as I've got the Firefly media server running and pointing to /tmp/.cemnt/mnt_sda2/Shared/Music, and music is streaming to iTunes via the Firefly server. My Torrents folder is on the same level as the Shared folder.

Hmm. The only other thing I can think of is that when you edited the Transmission 'settings.json' file did you use a backslash before the slash in the path? E.g. "\/tmp\/.cemnt\/mnt_sda2\/Shared\/Music"

Maybe it doesn't matter but that's what I did.

no, i haven't seen that structure before. i'll give it a try.

I looked over the config file for Transmission and saw that the file was indeed pointing to \/tmp\/.cemnt\/mnt_sda2\/Torrents. I removed the "\" characters from the config file and am successfully downloading a torrent. It looks like Transmission makes the directory structure with the Windows "\" instead of just leaving the Unix "/" - weird! Thanks for the tip.

One more thing - can I control the Transmission web interface from outside of my local network? If so, how d I go about this?

Thanks again for the help!

You'd have to open and forward the ports in your router and allow everyone or some IPs in a whitelist to access Transmission. Glad you got that fixed though. :)
