The simplest way to do this that is supported by PogoPlug (Cloudengines) is the PogoPlug Drive software. I actually haven't used it but it seems nice and simple. You can use it outside and inside your home network.
If you don't want to install software on your client machines and you are familiar with Linux, you can install OpenPogo and a Samba server. Once you correctly configure everything manually you see the directories on the network (i.e. as a network share drive).

Im interested in maybe getting one of these. Just had a couple questions..
I dont want to have to keep unhook an external hard drive all the time.
Unplug from pc then plug into the pogo so that I can share or access from away from home... then when Im back at home and want to add files to the external I have to unhook from the pogo and back into my pc. and so on. Then If i forget to unhook from pc I cant access from away from home.
Is there a way to have an external hard drive hooked up to both at the same time? Just wasnt sure if there is a hub or somethin that exists that can do that? Or if I had an external hard drive case that had both usb and firewire does anyone know if that would work? usb connected to pogoplug and firewire to pc.. or does it not usually work that way?
Is there a file size limit if I want to share a file with a friend, or if I just want to access a large file myself away from home?
Can files be resumed if connection is lost?
Is Transmission with the OpenPogo hack the only way to use PogoPlug to download torrents? How well does it work?
Sorry for so many questions
