I tried this as well but gave up. Too slow.....
Does Pogoplug play nicely with iPhoto? I thought I'd be able to keep my iPhoto library in my own cloud, but it's not going too well. I have my Library on a G-Drive connected to the Plug, and I've got the pogo app so that the drive shows in the Finder.
iPhoto is able to detect the Library, but it's really slow, and won't display any thumbnails. It will, however, display photos is given enough time to load. It's much faster when I'm at home and on the same network at the Plug, but I still have no thumbnails.
anyone have any ideas?
Many thanks,

I think I seriously misunderstood what the Plug can do. The whole point (for me) was to get all that data off my machine, but still be able to use it. If it takes several minutes to load a singe image - if it loads at all - then this product is a non-starter for me. Too bad.
I'm not sure how familiar you are with the inner workings of iPhoto, but I'm assuming you have a "managed" library, meaning your library and pics are in the same place. This is the config I had trouble with. I was able to successfully use a "referenced" library, where the database was on my mac and the pictures were behind the pogo. It was when I switched to managed that I moved it off the pogo. Now, I just back up the library to the pogo. I have been working successfully with iTunes with the pogo. In a similar way, I have my music behind the pogo and only the iTunes library local. That seems to work fine. Therefore, you may be able to make both work to your satisfaction if you put the files behind the pogo and keep the DBs locally.
Thanks for that very detailed suggestion. Sadly, before I could try it, I have had my iPhoto library corrupted (presumably by the Plug) and need to sort out rescuing that data before I try anything. Wish me luck.
