Categories: Pogoplug Drive (Linux)
Hello,
I'm new to the pogoplug, but I seem to have everything working fine from Windows Vista and Mac OS X. That is, from a laptop running Windows Vista and another laptop running Mac OS X I can read and write files to the drives connected to my pogoplug. I also have a desktop system running 64-bit Ubuntu (9.04). I have installed the pogoplugfs software (64-bit version) and can mount the pogoplug. I can read files already on the pogoplug from Ubuntu, but when I try to copy or save a file from Ubuntu to the drives under /media/pogoplug, there is a long wait (15-30 seconds), an error message, and the files that are created are empty (zero bytes).
Here is an example:
[bob@banach]$ date; cp f1planar.eps /media/pogoplug/Mycroft/ ; date
Thu Aug 20 13:42:50 EDT 2009
cp: writing `/media/pogoplug/Mycroft/f1planar.eps': Input/output error
Thu Aug 20 13:43:20 EDT 2009
[bob@banach]$ ls -l /media/pogoplug/Mycroft/
total 661

I have two 750GB drives attached through a USB hub to my pogoplug. Both drives are essentially empty, but I get an odd looking report from df on the usage of the drives. Please see below.
[bob@banach]$ df

Does anyone have a suggestion for fixing the zero-byte file issue?
Thanks,
Bob
