I see the link to the release notes, but no download or even indication of current version that I am running??

if you go to the "settings" page in the web application, you should see a list of your pogoplugs with the firmware version number next to them.

Also, if I remember correctly, the firmware upgrade should happen seamlessly and automatically in the background. The Pogoplug Drive software, however, needs to be downloaded.
