dave, there is a checkbox when you share a folder with somebody that allows/disallow write access to the share.
in general, it is always safest to save a local copy then copy it to your pogoplug due to the nature of network operations. for example, if your network connection drops in the middle of a copy operation, the program you are using might not handle it properly.

I am using pogoplug as a shared drive for our project directory. Is there a setting that will allow for a read-only prompt on files when edit mode is being used from another end?
Also, I just recently lost a PDF portfolio. Is it a better practice to make all document changes locally and then save (or sync) to the drive? I did not even have a temp file on the popoplug when I searched to recover?
Forgive the language; I am not technical.
