i presume you are using Finder to look for the file yes? unfortunately Finder isn't very good about refreshing a directory after you have modified a file elsewhere. we are working to improve this, but the issue is with Finder and one of the support libraries we are using.
to workaround this, you can either restart your pogoplug desktop application (which is a pain). or you can try this Finder refresh button:

it puts a little refresh button on your Finder toolbar. i have been using it successfully to make Finder refresh after uploading a file to pogoplug from somewhere else.
hope this helps!

I used the web interface to upload a file to a shared directory. After the file finished uploading I was unable to see the file in the directory. I looked around at all of the other directories I have on the drive with no success.
I download and installed the PogoPlug Drive for OS X. I used the PogoPlug Drive for OS X to connect to my drive and I looked in every directory and could not find the file.
However when I use the web interface to search for the file it is found. The file is a Quicktime movie and when I use the movies filter on the web UI the file shows up in the list of Quicktime movie files on the drive.
Where is this file? Why can't I see it in the directory I uploaded the file, or any directory for that mater? Thanks
Ray
I installed the pogoplug desktop application after I was unable to find the file using the web UI. I can not find the file in the desktop application. I have restarted the desktop application several times.
I have opened a case with support and have received a response back from Christopher. His response indicated there may be a problem with the cedb index file.
I think I may know how this occurred. Earlier today I started uploading the file through the web UI when I was connected to the LAN that his hosting the PogoPlug. I canceled the upload after a few minutes. A few hours later I used the web UI to upload the same file to the same directory when I was connected to the PogoPlug device/drive over a internet connection (not a LAN connection if that makes any difference). I didn't cancel this upload.
I tried to delete the file using the web UI. I searched for the file and used the web UI to delete the file. I received the following error:
An unhandled RPC exception occured on method removeFile: 500[Unspecified server error]
I have tried to upload the same file to the same directory again and nothing happens. The web UI displays the uploading status box for a quick second then it goes away.
It seems the file is there but may not be in the index file. I will have physical access to the drive and pogoplug device later tonight. Is there a way I can SSH into the device remotely and look at the filesystem or do something to cause the pogoplug device to reindex the drive?
Ray
hmm interesting, yes you can either telnet or ssh to your pogoplug and log in with root/ceadmin and inspect the drive mounted at /tmp/.cemnt/mnt_sda1 (or wherever it is mounted). support can help you delete the index file and regenerate it if desired.
