Hello, I have not been able to successfully defrag the P: drive. All the defraggers I tried fail. However, if I disconnect the usb drive from the pogo plug and connect it directly it works fine.

Although the Pogoplug drive shows up as a drive it does not really show all the files on the drive. It doesn't show the hidden database files Pogoplug uses.
I would bet that is why the defrag program does not work. You will probably have to plug it into your computer to defrag.

Hi zen2000,

That's because P: drive isn't actually a drive :) - it's our service, telling Windows (or OSX) that what it's seeing is a drive. Our drive application makes it possible to interact with your Pogo-enabled disks as though they were a local drives for many functions, but not all. For example, if you have multiple Pogoplugs on the same account and log into your drive application you will see ALL the physical drives connected to ALL the Pogoplugs under P:

We do not have any plans to implement a defrag feature (it would be technically challenging and would consume a lot of our engineering bandwidth) currently; the workaround is precisely what you did - safely unmount, defrag, and plug the drive back into the Pogoplug. It's not likely that you'll have to do that too frequently. I hope that answers the question!
