Just started today. I am getting this message "this Pogoplug drive is not available". I have several main folders on the drive and can see these folders, but no subfolders or contents. Using Windows explorer, I can also see the folders, but the folders are apparently empty. Using my Iphone, I can also see the folders and no contents, only "Load more files..."

Here is the strange part. When I use the my.photoplug interface, I can run a search and see the actual files and even download them. If I click on "files I share", I get the message "this folder is shared from a Pogoplug that is not available."

 Any suggestions?

update:

I took the Pogoplug home and used it with my home network. Worked just as advertised. Obviously, the problem has something to do with my network at work. I have a firewall, so maybe that is the problem.

What do I need to do to get online from work? I want to have the drive kept up to date using backup software, so that I can remotely access files, particularly from my Iphone.

Can you just leave it at home and then access it?

On the drive not available deal. Out of curiosity did you unplug it at work and then plug it back in again at work to see if anything changed?

Maybe when you unplugged it took it home and then plugged it in it rebooted, rescanned the HD and made a new database for it and that is what fixed it.

from the pogoplug faq:

How do I know if Pogoplug will work with my home network?

Pogoplug works with most consumer home networking equipment. If you have a business-grade router in the home, you may need to manually adjust some network settings. Click here for more details.

update:

Brought the Pogoplug back to the office and used a 32gig memory stick instead of a hard drive. It works! Looks like it was not the network after all. The initial recognition of files seems to take some time if you have a lot of files, but access is fast after that.
