Is there a way to get back JSON with a callback function added (JSON-P)?

http://ajaxian.com/archives/jsonp-json-with-padding

Bascially, a JSON call would like like - http://service.pogoplug.com/svc/api/json/getVersion?callback=foo and the response would be wrapped in the callback specified - foo({"version":"LINUX connect-server - 1.0.0.14"});

I know this is months old, but I am curious about such a request too.

What would it take to get jsonp support in the API? Is there something that I can do to help make that happen?

Approaching a year later and I would like to know if this could happen? It would make mashups pretty awesome. You could make it so that a website could use the local network connections for fast streaming of music and videos.
