There are many different routers available, as well as many flavors of firmware.  This is the place for you to post your experiences with your router/firmware and its compatibility with the Pogoplug.

I'm running the DD-WRT firmware on an old Belkin wireless router and PogoPlug works great. Totally plug n play.

hey dltee - would you mind writing into support and letting us know the nature of the problem? If it's a true incompatibility we want to know - if it's some other configuration issue, hopefully we can help!

Running a smoothwall express 3.0 setup with no issues once I set the mac address to be assigned a static IP so that I could set the pogoplug to ignore the outgoing filtering that takes place. Thanks for the help from Cloud Engines support!

The nature is as stated. Pogoplug is not auto recognized and putting in the code returns a not found. Customer support is non existent. Tech support is of absolutely no use. No phone numbers and emails just vaporize. They should save on the packaging and spend a nickle or two on tech / customer support. I was very excited to try this. Now, I'm very excited about turning my friends and associates off to Pogoplug.

Did you try submitting the problem at http://support.pogoplug.com ? I am not sure what you mean by putting in the code. Do you mean setting up a static IP address for the Pogoplug?

There a super long alpha numeric for registering the device....It's printed on the front label...Maybe code's not the right term.  Whatever, the lights come on.  But there's no communication.  I can't address it.

Found my issue. Needed to find the tiny MAC address printed on back to set up a static ip assignment.

Mea culpa time. It's time to come clean and appologize for some unkind comments. It's time to tell the world I'm a flawed human with discernable wickedness in my heart. Confession is good for the soul; Biblically speaking. My previous comments were unkind. The wording was measured but the between the lines verbiage dripped with unfair sarcastic accusations. I shot from the hip and hit myself squarely in the foot. Christopher from Pogoplug has taken this matter up and has personally researched it and sought resolution. The device was purchased thru ebay. I conveniently left that detail out. The device seems to be a "test" device used by developers and is impossible to use outside the lab. The seller of this device held it out as new. The seller has not responded with any details as to how he obtained it. He likely will not. I may well have been scammed but not by Pogoplug or Cloud Engines Inc. This is a class act of a company and they have exceptional people working for them. I hereby retract everything I have said heretofor and humbly appologize. Thank you thank you Sam I am, I do so like green eggs and ham...and thank you Christopher. dan

I believe most Verizon FIOS routers ship with firewall settings set at maximum. Please adjust this first and try again with your Pogoplug.

You are also more than welcome to submit a support ticket to support at pogoplug dot com.

I using the tmobile@home linksys router with the latest firmware since it auto updates, will be switching to a belkin n router with gigabit network soon due to wanting to transfer files faster since both my laptop and netbook are wireless n.

SMC Barracade Cable Router Model SMC7004ABR
Runtime Code Version: V1.42.012
Boot Code Version: V1.00

Had to open the UDP port up but that all. And yes I know it's an old router but it has a built in print server and I've not felt the need to upgrade it yet..
