Right now I just have the Maxtor OneTouch 4 (500GB) running and it works great. I plan to pick up some enclosures soon and add to my arsenal. I'll post here again when I do.

This is the place to post compatible USB drives and USB drive enclosures for the Pogoplug. Please chime in if your hard drive is working smoothly with your Pogoplug!

The Western Digital My Book 1TB drive seems to work well most of the time. Over a WIFI-LAN, viewing DVD quality video is usually smooth and without pixelation. File transfers happen at around 500K/s to 3M/s. I've been quite happy. I have found some problems with transferring large 1gb+ files, and some of my photographs copied over with errors, although this was infrequent. I don't know why this might have happened, whether it was a drive problem, a pogoplug issue, or a network problem.
I have the western digital 1tb hd that works fine it even shuts down when its not being used
I have the following configuration on mine:

I currently have 2 x 1TB WD HDD's and 2 x 500GB WD HDD's.
It runs awesome.
Intrepid63, nice setup. I have a WD 120G HD and a 1.5TB hardrive connected to a USB hub and it works great for me.
Western Digital MyBook Essential 1TB hard drive up and running without a hitch!
I love Pogoplug so far!
Spinning Platter HD's
- HP Personal Media Drive; 1 TB and 500 GB both working fine
- HP Pocket Media Dine; 250 GB working fine
- IBM ThinkPad external USB size?? working just fine
Note: None of these drives are spinning down when I use the Pogoplug Drive client, but will if I only use the web interface.
Flash Storage:
- Kingston 16 GB MicoSD in USB Card Reader; just fine
- Unknown "1 GB made in China"; just fine
Oddball things because I Can:
- HTC Windows Mobile phone; yup looks just like a drive, just a sloooow one.
- Kodak Printer Dock with SD Card inserted; just fine
- Samsung SC2410 Development Board with onboard flash; oh yeah.
- Viliv 55 mobile PC in Device Mode; Yup
Is anyone using a RAID 0 (mirroring) configuration? I took a look at the SANS product - no mention of RAID. How are you backing up data and adding scalability? Any RAID 1 users? Second, took a look at Frys yesterday - 89 bucks for 1.5 TB 7200 RPM drives. Internal 3.5 SATA, seems to make sense in a Netgear 49 dollar enclosure - priced right - but got bad reviews.
Looking for ideas .
I am using a Drobo v2.0 (with Firewire 800/USB 2.0) connected to the pogoplug. It has 3 2TB partition (thin provisioned via Drobo Dashboard, which report to the OS that it has more space than it physically has). This actually works out quite well.
I am using this setup to provide remote backup for a media server that my volunteer organization has. I simply mount the PogoPlugged drives as a desktop drive and use SyncToy to synchronize the drives. This serves as the remote backup. This is an excellent low power remote backup solution.
Have been very happy with PogoPlug 1.x firmware but now having some issue with 2.x.
Maxtor OneTouch 1TB
Seagate Freeagent XTreme 2TB
Kingston Data Traveller 2.0 4GB thumb drive
No problems on all of the above. Ran badblocks and iozone with no issues.
I am using a Western Digital 1tb hard drive that I can use when hooked up to my mac, but as soon as I plug it in to pogoplug, pogoplug will not recognize the device. Any suggestions?
Waldo,
Sounds like you have the drive set up properly. Can you access the pogoplug via the web? I had issues getting set up and support had to help me. When I got past that, I ran into my crappy DSL service. The upload from from my suburban Atlanta home just plain sucks. AT&T DSL just can't deliver what the cable company can ....sounds like the 3G service right? HMMMMM....
I've have tried six different drives (Seagate, LaCie SimpleTech) and still cannot see the drives. All I see is the
Has anyone tried the Toshiba 1TB external hard drive or the HP 1TB SimpleSlave Drive? i am thinking about getting one of these drives with the Pogoplug, but want to know will they work before i spend the money.
I'm using an old 250GB MyBook. I can see files but not open them. Folders appear empty. Do I need to change settings that will allow my drive function like an attached drive? Thank you in advance for your comments.

2) LaCie 1TB
1) LaCie 500GB
Work great, look great. I am actually going to move one of the LaCie 1TB drives to another PogoPlug using friend and setup as an ActiveCopy remote backup (and I will act as his remote backup site).
Why not use the buddy system to do the same, maybe a PogoBuddy?
:)
I am using WD Passport SE 1TB, WD Passport 500GB and Simpletech SIMPLE 500GB
simultaneously.
Out of these three, accessing WD 1TB drive very smooth and fast.
All Icy Dock external USB products work with the pogo plug.

I have a 2nd version Pogo with a Western Digital Essential 2 TB external hard drive attached which occasionally goes off line for no known reason. IT has been unable to explain why. After 4 months of frustration and another off line experience, I got this message "Warning Messages: Drive WD My Book 1110 on PogoPlug. You have attached a hard drive that your Pogo Plug enabled device does not support. Please click here to contact Customer support"... from which it appears Pogo Plug IT have a list of which hard drives are supported or possibly which are not. Rather than guessing via this forum, it would be nice if Pogo IT posted this list so we could buy our hardware appropriately. How about it, guys?
I have two old IDE drives (40GB and 80GB), both in the same model of USB external enclosure, attached to DockStar.
@ Jon.QA, they are Masscool FU310, both several years old. You can see it at http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16817145746
