Couple of questions.
You running Pogoplug drive version 1.0.0.14?
Are you running a Beta Pogoplug?
If you save to you local HD and then copy/paste to the P: drive does that work?
This is odd (and infuriating). I run a couple of different websites, and have the sites saved to the drive plugged into the Pogoplug, so I can edit them from anywhere.
I am able to open, view, and edit the webpages (.htm extension) just fine, but I cannot save them back to the drive. If I try to save a webpage to the drive, I get an error message: "Server Error: Write Error on file "P:\......... .htm".
I am using MS Front Page to edit/create web pages, and the error is generated by Front Page.
I can save anything else to the drive, but not webpages.
Everything is fine if I dismount the drive from the Pogoplug and attach it directly to a computer, but obviously that kind of defeats the purpose.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanx in advance!
I am using version 1.0.0.6 Is there a newer one?
Not a Beta model.
I can save any other type of file, but haven't tried saving it to a local drive and then copying it to the P: drive...
Bob, Ya, there was some problems with Windows Office programs and saving files in the past.
Go to http://www.pogoplugged.com/download/list?sort=date and go through the steps to get the latest version and see if that works.
I'll give that a try...
For what it's worth, is there some mechanism in place to notify owners when a new version of the software is available?
There is now Bob. Your older version did not have it but once you have upgraded you will see a notice on the icon whenever there is a new version out.
See here for the new stuff.

This just gets weirder...
I upgraded to the latest Popoplug drive software, and it seemed to fix the "Server Error: Write Error on file "P:\......... .htm" problem...until this morning when it happened again. Once again, I am unable to save an .htm file to the P: drive.
I still apparently have the latest version of the Pogoplug software.
Help?
The last time this issue came up, support was right here with answers pretty quickly, so obviously, I thought I'd try here. Go figure.
Is support at Pogoplug going to consistently be so hit-or-miss?
if you email tech support, they can track the issue and help you nail down the problem. they are pretty responsive, the community forum is going to tend to be hit-or-miss
Bob,
I think you were referring to my previous reply as a reply from support. I am not from Pogoplug or Cloud engines. I am the moderator of the site and a Pogoplug enthusiast but not affiliated with Cloud Engines or Pogoplug.
That being said. Are you trying to overwrite previous copies of an HTML file or create new ones? Maybe there is a problem with the Pogoplug database. I would contact support and see if they can help.
Looks like 1.5 is now out. One of the fixes says...- Better handling for saving and opening of Microsoft office files on Pogoplug drives - specifically fixes for saving Powerpoint files as well as protected excel spreadsheets
Maybe that will take care of the html problem.
Thanks Brandon.
The usually prompt Cloud Engine support folks are not doing too well with this issue. I'll try the update and see if that fixes the problem (upgrading right now).
