I recently attempted to put two similar My Book drives on the Pogoplug with a USB hub. I read in the FAQ that it could be done. Anyhow, something weird happened. Two drives appeared, but both of them appeared to have exactly the same content.

Both drives had the same name for their root folders, the default "My Book." Anyhow, trying several times, I changed the root header for one of the drives, I tried rebooting the Pogoplug, reconnecting and disconnecting drives, and unloading the drives from the website.

Nothing seemed to work. It seems to choose 1 of the two (presumably the one that loads first) and shows them as either two or one drive.

Weird. Has anyone had success with two drives and a USB hub?

I had a problem that was simular. I found that taking your time between the instalation of each drive (including the first) helps let the processes "settle down" so the PP is not trying to do too many things at once. I know this is not a technical answer but i found that putting 5 full minutes between PP start-up, adding the first drive and adding the second drive helps solve many problems. Also you might try renaming the first drive before attaching the second...

just my thoughts.

... also my USB hub is self powered as are both of my drives. I think not drawing power from the PP helps - again not technicaly proven but just my gut...

Good idea. I'll give that a shot after my file transfers are done.
