I am backing up all my files and deleting those that are no longer needed.  If I use the (P:) drive to do this, when i delete a file that is on (P:) where does it go and how do I know it is gone (not just no longer visible).

I assumed it went into my computers recycle bin but the files are not there.

Thx!

Weston

Hey Weston,

You've discovered one of the subtle ways in which a Pogoplug attached drive does not function exactly like a local drive. When you delete a file off your P drive, it is simply gone. If you're suspicious that you might have found a bug, you can refresh your browser (if you're using the web app), or right click the systray icon and click reload, and check again to make sure that the file has been deleted.

If you happened to delete something you need, the standard ways of recovering a file from a disk should work, but there is no recycle bin functionality to the Pogoplug.

Thanks for the heads-up.  via the web i see a "Recycled " folder... what is this for (i have a feeling this is a dumb question but will ask anyway).

Good product!  Tell your guys to keep up the good work...

Spoke with one of our engineers - we both think that the "recycler" folder you're seeing is likely the one windows creates when you format a drive. If it were a true local disk, that's where your deleted items would end up. Since it isn't, that folder is like an appendix, and will NOT be a respository for any deleted items.

and thanks for the compliment - glad your enjoying your Pogoplug!

Please see my thread below. I would appreciate any input you have
