For security reasons, I'd like a way to turn on/off WAN/LAN access independently. That is, even with "good security" I don't want to have a device constantly available to the outside world and my local LAN at the same time.

I'm not sure if this can really be done by your device, as opposed to the router/switch the user uses. But, I'm putting it out there anyhow.

I actually have a router with DD-WRT firmware, where, I could spend some time creating a new VLAN and then isolating this device on the separate VLAN and have firewall rules... But, that's a pain, even to someone who knows how to do it... and it's even more of a pain to temporarily allow access.
