Pogoplug currently does not support Journaled HFS+, which is a requirement for Time Machine. We're working on a solution and hope to have one prior to final product ship - I'll keep you updated.

How's this going? I would like to use my pogoplug for Time Machine as well. I already have a Time Machine disk hanging off of my AEBS, but putting one HUGE drive on the pogoplug would be much more efficient in my mind.

Same here, this is the only thing holding me back. I'd like to just have one massive drive off my AEBS for Time Machine and PogoPlug access.
Hello,
I've installed the DroboApps (http://www.drobo.com/droboapps) binary of netatalk (AFP filesharing for linux) on my pogoplug and have had it successfully accepting backups from time machine for several weeks now. It stores the backup in a sparsedisk image, getting around the issue with the pogoplug not being able to read/write a hfs+ journaled disk. Configuration of netatalk was pretty straightforward, just change some config files and paths around.
I've also had success with ctorrent, perl, and mt-daapd from the DroboApps. Safe to say the binaries posted there are compatible with the pogoplug.
Is it as simple as putting it on one of the shares and changing the paths to start the netatalk daemon?

I would definitely be interested in this if it supported TimeMachine.
On another note, can you connect and share multiple external hard-drives using a USB hub with pogoplug?
I'm thinking one drive for media, another for projects, and one for backups.
@JeffMc
Yeah. It's pretty simple once you get the jffs2 filesystem up via Pogoplug's developer howto (they emailed it to me). I can make the jffs2 file with the netatalk files on there and all you'd have to do is edit the defined share config file and run the daemon.
There is also some .passwd file making to do if you're running leopard, but there is a howto site to fix that. Pretty straight-forward:

Yeah, you can use a USB hub. Per the FAQ on the pogoplug website...
Can I attach multiple hard drives to my Pogoplug?
Yes! Use a USB hub with your Pogoplug and you can attach multiple hard drives that all show up under your account.

All right, now that PogoPlug supports HFS+ (Journaling) has anyone been able to get TimeMachine working without having to use any workarounds? I'd love to try, but I don't want to go reformat my drive due to the fact I'd have to spend quite a bit of time moving stuff back on to the drives I took them off of. :-)
Thanks in advance for your help.
I tried without any success. I even tried the "undocumented" mac setting:
defaults write com.apple.systempreferences TMShowUnsupportedNetworkVolumes 1
I'm a mac newbie though, so I'd like to hear from others too.
I think one issues is getting TimeMachine to recognize the drive as a legit network drive. It seems like the way MacFUSE is announcing the drive is different then a AFP drive. As such, it's not getting detected. Ensuring the file protocol that Pogoplug uses is compatible with TimeMachine is another issue.
Can the developers confirm/deny any of this?
Any updates on this issue?
I have the new Pogoplug, my "former" harddrive backed up my mac through Time Machine.
Now that my drive is connected through the Pogoplug, Time Machine does not recognize it.
Any workarounds?
I am also interested in finding out how to have time machine back up my files through the pogo
So can you give us an update on Time Machine support, a good 9 months gestation has happened since the last update from Cloud Machines.
Yes, let us know as soon as you have the update supporting Time Machine!!!
