New Software, New Devices (and a New Site)

Notice something different about us? That?s right. More big news from Pogoplug after the launch of our new web interface and iPhone? app earlier this month. Today we?re launching a new site, two new exciting software titles and two hardware products to give you instant access to all your personal content from any connected device, anywhere— no fees, no limits.

?Current cloud storage offerings allow people to store only a limited amount of their digital content and are encumbered with recurring fees and rigid terms of service.? Pogoplug gives consumers the freedom and control to create their own personal cloud, hosted in the safety of their home, without fees or limits,? said Daniel Putterman, President and CEO of Cloud Engines.

The Software
Turn any PC into a personal cloud with our new Pogoplug software, now available in two flavors: completely free and Premium. Both allow you to access and share content from your PC safely and securely from anywhere on the Internet. The premium version at a one-time cost of $29 comes with instant streaming of multimedia to any mobile device.

The Hardware
We?ve updated the award-winning Pogoplug device ($99), as well as launched the highly anticipated Pogoplug Video ($199). Both devices offer a redesigned Web UI that makes accessing and organizing content even easier as well as improved social and sharing options that let users control the distribution of their content and media.? Pogoplug Video adds enhanced video capabilities that let you stream video instantly to your computer or mobile devices in high resolution without converting or uploading files.

Where can you get the software and devices? Pogoplug Premium Software is available at Best Buy and online at www.pogoplug.com. Pogoplug and Pogoplug Video are now available at Best Buy and other premier retailers, as well as from www.pogoplug.com. See our store locator or buy online.

How do I distinguish the new Pogoplug from old models? Bestbuy has many models, all say pogoplugs. So I did not buy any when I went there today. I want the latest updated pogoplug, not old pink, old black/grey/pro etc. Is there a version somewhere like v1, v2, v3.1 etc?

Each Pogoplug product has different features that are quite distinct. You should check what is the one most fitting to your needs. Pogoplug video is the last model out: http://www.pogoplug.com/products.html

I'm not sure why the Pogoplug pro is missing from the list. It might be it replaced the regular Pogoplug without wifi and the pro is now called simply Pogoplug.

[update] this might help: http://www.pogoplugged.com/forum/thread/16301/Pogoplug-V3-POGO-P21/
