Pogoplug Introduces 2.3 Android App, Adds New Functionality
Today we are announcing a major revision of our Android App, adding new features and creating the best mobile experience for accessing personal files and media from any Android phone. The 2.3 version of the Android app, available now in the Android Marketplace, offers users expanded functionality for both their Pogoplug and Android phone by giving users far greater access to their files and docs.
With the Pogoplug 2.3 Android App, users are able to:
Quickly search and view music by Artist, Song, Album, or genre: Now find and stream music more easily from USB hard drives connected to your home Pogoplug to your Android phone, so all your music can be streamed to your Android phone.
Share files directly from their Android phone: Pictures, videos, and other content created on your Android phone can be saved on your Pogoplug connected drive and shared online. Record your child's first steps using your Android phone and within seconds upload it to your Pogoplug connected drives and share the video with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Search for a file across all your Pogoplug drives: A search will look through files on any drive connected to your Pogoplug, save time by searching all your drives at once.
Create folders on your drives: Use your Android phone to create brand new folders on your Pogoplug connected drives so everything stays organized.

Got the update, but still very hit and miss on my HTC Desire. Should it take 90 seconds before streaming starts?

I would like to try this on my Archos 5T. Could someone send me the install file please as I cannot find a download link here

I could be wrong, but I don't think there is any support for Archos products from Pogoplug. I have a 605 but could not get that to work at all. However, as I said I could be wrong.

would someone be kind enough to give me the link to the android market where I can find the pogoplug for android app? I have been searching the market and cannot find it. I need 2.3

Kahuna, If you use your mobile in the Market App and type Pogoplug in the search box, it should come up. At least it did for me.

I'm located in germany here - can't find Pogoplug App in the Market App... Maybe some country restrictions?

Guys, thanks for your input. However, I got a response from Pogoplug support (they are great) and I found out why I could not locate the App on the Android Market.
My phone's operating system is 1.6. The Pogoplug App is only available on the Market for Android phones running operating system 2.1 and higher. So, I think my phone was just not able to locate the App when I searched the Market using my phone.
But, the good news is I was able to download Pogoplug App version 2.3.1 and I installed it and it works just great. Below (under the asteriks) is the response I got from support and the link to Pogoplug App for Android version 2.3.1. I downloaded the file and saved it to my SD card. (It was a zip file so I extracted it) Then, I opened the file (the file name was Pogoplug231.apk) and it asked if I wanted to install it. I hit "install" and bingo, I now have the Pogoplug app.
Thanks again, everyone. And good luck fl_dutch. Hope you get it installed Post again so I know if you were successful.

The app is only on the market for devices using Android 2.1 and higher. If you are using Android 1.5 or 1.6, you can download the app from our website:

There is also a version for 2.1 devices on our downloads page listed above.
