The Long Awaited Shipping Announcement
Today is the first day of April, and rather than try to come up with some little prank (”Pogoplug Announces Support for Commodore 64s”), we have some great news to share! Units are being packaged up (literally as we type this blog post) and will begin shipping by the end of the week. Barring any unforeseen circumstances (like Fedex delivering us a box full of rocks instead of Pogoplugs), all initial orders will be shipped out in the next 10 days (by April 11th).
For those wondering “I thought they were going to ship in March, it’s already April!!”, sometimes milestones can’t be met because the quality of the work is more important. The feedback from our beta program was invaluable, and we decided it would be worth the extra couple of weeks to make the Pogoplug an outstanding product. We’ve improved sharing to make it easier and faster, we’ve added RSS capability and a wealth of other features we know you’ll appreciate.
We’re very proud of our product; the bugs have been squashed, the packaging looks fancy and we’re excited about getting them into your hands. We sincerely appreciate your comments (even the not-so-nice ones) on the blog, your tweets, your emails, and your feedback on the community. Now it’s time for you to make a little extra room near your router, and sit by the door waiting for the big brown truck to pull up.
