Updated Pogoplug iPhone App Review: A Fresh Look and Many Improvements
Categories: iPhone & iDevices
Use Pogoplug on the go with your iPhone? You're in luck, as Pogoplug has completely refreshed their official iPhone app--resulting in a faster, more organized, and streamlined experience. It's good enough at this point that if you have an iPhone, it's reason enough to ditch whatever cloud provider you have and get Pogoplugged! Let's take a look at what's different.
A Fresh New Look

The updated Pogoplug iPhone app has been refreshed with a slick, professional new look that's also easier to navigate, and is closely matched to the new web and desktop interfaces.
Music Browsing is Vastly Improved

The system for browsing and playing back your music has been vastly improved. Along with significant increases in speed when navigating through your library, the previous interface has been replaced with a system with a bottom navigation bar, allowing you to easily switch between searching by artist, album, and so on.

Background streaming of audio, of course, is intact, and your now playing screen allows you to easily move forward and back through your tracks.
Music Indexing
You may also have noticed in the image above that the Pogoplug app is "adding" files. The app now features indexing of your music selection, which means that you are no longer stuck with the older, clunkier method of manually loading music files by letter, and makes it feel much more like an iTunes library--integrated, fast, and smooth.
File/Folder/Device Navigation

Navigating through your multiple Pogoplugs, attached drives, and desktops is now much easier and more streamlined. This is immediately apparent when you go to the file browsing section. I also noticed a big difference in speed in switching folders and devices.
Conclusions
Overall, it's safe to say this is by far the best mobile version of Pogoplug to date, and incorporates a number of improvements while retaining the functionality of the original. Now, we just can't wait to see an updated iPad app as well!
I have an iPhone 3GS with OS V 4.3.1
Pogoplug was working fine UNTIL I updated to V 4.0. I'm able to sign-in and get to the menu screen but that's as far as I can get. When I click on Settings all I get is "Indexing" in Music Library. I kept that running for ages but nothing's changed. If I click on Files all I get is the swirl going round and round with "Loading..."
I've updated to V4.1 and it's still the same and it hasn't fixed the issue.
I've submitted a report via the app and would greatly appreciate if anyone else can give me a heads-up to a fix so I can use the app as intended.
VERY FRUSTRATED!
im an iPhone 3G user, stuck to the 3.12 firmware.
So far i havent seen the mention update available for my phone, so im stuck to the old gui.
My wife uses an iPhone 4, with the 4.1 update IOS but also has the old gui.
Has the app changed? should i download something else?
A heads-up would be nice! (or even an informative mail for pogousers?)

What is not mentioned in this article is that Cloudengines does not support backward compatibility.
The prerequisite is at least IOS 4.2, wonderfull :-(
