Share Files With Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace with Pogoplug
Categories: Pogoplug File Sharing News
Social networking junkies, listen up... Pogoplug just got even better! Cloud Engines has decided to beef up the Pogoplug and "plugged in" some awesome new sharing features for you to enjoy. A lot of folks want to ensure that they maintain complete control of their personal data, such as photos and video. See, it's debatable that your precious memories and files, when uploaded to social networking sites, remain truly private.
The Pogoplug changes all this by allowing you, from right within the My.Pogoplug interface, to share folders with Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace. You maintain control, retention, and secure sharing of your data (on your own personal hard drive) while making it easy and enjoyable for others to view what you've shared. Let's learn how this works.

First, log into My.Pogoplug and click on the "Settings" button in the upper right hand portion of your screen.

Then, click on the "Social Settings" tab on the left hand side. You'll see options pop up for Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace. Click on any one of them to set it up; for this example, we'll choose Facebook.

In all three setups, you'll have to authorize the Pogoplug to auto-post to your chosen social network. Facebook requires you to log in and also to authorize the PogoplugPoster application to post to your Facebook wall/profile.

Once you select a sharing option, the application will confirm that you indeed want to make the post. Once you confirm, it will get posted to the chosen service.
As you can see, you will also have the option to allow the PogoplugPoster application to post every time the folder is updated; for example, every time you add more pictures, your Facebook profile will get updated. The advantage, of course, is that you won't have to perform a manual post each time. The results are shown above.

You can also share on Twitter and MySpace just as easily! Have fun and make sure to post your experiences to the forums.
